there is a specific feeling some people get when they walk into a hearth's space, and it is best described as arrival. hearths don't do this with grand gestures. they do it by remembering birthdays, keeping the right tea in the cupboard, and noticing when someone's quiet in a way that isn't their usual quiet. a hearth's partners and metamours have probably told them, at some point, that they didn't know they needed this until they had it. the hearth isn't trying to make this happen. it's just how they move through love.
the hearth's work is receiving care with the same skill they give it. hearth energy is powerful precisely because it flows freely, but people who pour consistently without being refilled eventually run dry. the edge is learning to let themselves be held the way they hold other people. hearths who master this become the emotional centers of entire chosen families. hearths who don't can find themselves suddenly exhausted and not sure why.
